Lights, Camera, Action!

We will be selecting a class movie that we will watch, analyze, and discuss together. Below is a list of some possible options. Please write recommendations for these or other movies you think would be enjoyable, interesting, and/or useful. Post those in the Band by Saturday, October 5. Then vote for your favorites in a Band poll by Sunday night, October 7.
Vote Here for your Favorites Criteria
  • Must be OK for public in-school viewing (e.g. no nudity or extreme violence)
  • It must include plenty of spoken English.
  • It should include topics and scenes that lend themselves to interesting discussions.

Discussion Questions
  1. How concerned are you about nutrition? 
  2. In what ways are you a healthy eater? In what ways aren’t you?
  3. Do you have any special strategies for eating well?
  4. How do different foods you eat affect your stomach, your mood and/or energy levels?
  5. Do you ever look at nutrition labels? If so, do they affect your consumption habits?
  6. Amongst your family and friends, who has the most/least nutritious diet?
  7. How different is your diet from your parents? your friends?
  8. How often and what kinds of fast food and processed food do you eat?
  9. Which foods do you eat that have a lot of salt, sugar, fat, or other harmful ingredients?
  10. What is nutritionally good and bad about food in your home country?
  11. Which sources of food do you trust the most (stores, brands, countries, etc.)?
  12. Have you ever had food poisoning?  What from?  
  13. Which foods do you detest (strongly dislike)?

Week#1 & Week#2



We will spend the first two weeks of  class getting acquainted with each other and getting oriented to the course methods and tools.

EGL202 Assignments - Week#1&2  

Due September 3
➤Join the EGL202  Band for your class

➤Get a Gmail account and install these apps: Google Drive, Docs, Translate.

➤Post a selfie in the Band with your name (in 한글 ), Student #, Gmail Address and ‘Please call me…’

Due September 5
Create your ‘EGL202 Notes’ Google Doc and share it with Jeff (bufslebow@gmail.com)

Due September 8   ➤ Complete the Entrance Questionnaire


Due September 15   
➤  Post a 1~5 minute INTRODUCTION VIDEO to the your class BAND You can take a ‘selfie video’ with your phone or get help from a friend.
The goal is help us get to know each other. Be as creative as you like!  (e.g. answer several of the ‘getting to know you better’ questions, give a tour of your home, take us out with you on Friday night, tell us about what you do in your free time, etc.)


Requirements:  You need to make an on-camera appearance and you need to be speaking English most of the time.  Please don’t read or memorize what you say.
