Short Written/Digital Quiz (June 19)
Similar to midterm quiz (vocabulary from Quizlet, grammar covered in class, listening challenge).
Recorded Talk Shows (June 19)
You will be in groups of 3-4 people. You can either choose your group members or have them randomly assigned. If you would like to select your own group members, please post the names to the sign-up document by June 4. Talk shows should last 3-5 minutes/person and participants should try to evenly divide ‘talk time’. Each participant can choose their own topic or the talk show can all be about one topic, although each participant should prepare at least unique one question related to that topic. When you have finished talking about your prepared topics, Jeff will give you another couple of topics to discuss (without preparation). You can take turns being the camera person or set the camera up so that it records automatically. (list of all EGL201 Questions)
Talk Show Guidelines
- Authentic (real) interactive conversation
- Preparing a few notes and/or talking points is OK, but….
- NO Monologues NO Reading NOT Memorized. NO Repeat topics (from midterms)
- Speak as clearly and naturally as possible
- Be interested and interesting
- If you don’t feel energetic and confident, PRETEND you are! Fake it til you Make it!
- Feel free to come up with your own topic(s), but check with Jeff before recording. These can include Table Talk Topics, Job Interview Questions, or any other discussion questions we covered in class.
