Talk Show, Take#2   (December 12)

You will work in the same groups you did during our first talk shows (week#12). You will have some time in class to discuss how you want to prepare. Topics should be posted to the band by December 10 and include an overview, vocabulary words, questions, and links. Talk shows should last 5~7 minutes/person and participants should try to evenly divide ‘talk time’. Two participants should audio record the discussion, just in case there’s a technical issue.

Once your recording is posted, please (actually) listen to your own group and write self-feedback about your language usage, speaking style and group dynamics. Be as specific as possible. Was there anything different from the previous talk show? These comments can be posted on the Band post or emailed to Jeff at bufslebow@gmail.com
Due: December 14, 11:58 pm
Vocabulary Quiz (December 17)
A short Quizizz Quiz based on vocabulary from the EGL202 Quizlet.

Speakers Corner  (December 17)

In groups of 2-3, you will record video of yourselves answering two Speakers Corner questions. (2~4 minutes/person) You can choose and prepare for the first one. The second will be another ‘Spontaneous Topic’ given to you shortly before ‘showtime’. If you’d like to choose your partners, post that request using the Speakers Corner Request Form by Dec. 10. Others will be randomly assigned to groups.

Optional Conferences (December 19)
If you would like to meet with Jeff to discuss anything about this course, your studies, and/or life, feel free to sign up. This will not affect your grade one way or another. Sign-up here by Dec 10.

Document your Learning (Talk Show self-analysis by Dec. 12, everything else by Dec. 20)

You are required to listen to your Talk Show and Speakers Corner recording and do a self-analysis based on language usage. What was good about your group’s conversation and your participation? How could you improve your language usage (grammar, pronunciation, usage, etc).? Do you notice any changes since the beginning of the semester and/or university studies?

(Optional) I would also like to see (and give you credit for) any learning that has taken place during this course that I might not have seen. Please share any notes, study methods, or other documentation of what you’ve learned
. You can add this to your personal Google notes or send Jeff an email or video with the subject ‘My Name - EGL202 Learning Documentation’.
